Golconda police chief relieved of duties

GOLCONDA, Ill., (KBSI) — Golconda Police Chief Steve Walker has been relieved of his duties effective immediately, according to Mayor Gail Barger.

The city did not provide a reason for the decision.

The Pope County Sheriff’s Department will handle law enforcement matters for Golconda in the interim. The department may be reached at 618-683-4321.
