Golf cart theft investigation leads to arrests, drug charges in Grand Rivers, Kentucky
GRAND RIVERS, Ky., (KBSI) — A golf cart theft investigation in Grand Rivers has led to multiple arrests and drug charges.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation in April after a golf cart was reported stolen from a residence. Deputies recovered the stolen property and presented the case to a grand jury.
Indictments were returned against Jason Reed, 21, of Paducah, and Richard Watkins, 62, of Grand Rivers, who were both charged with receiving stolen property valued between $1,000 and $10,000.
A subsequent investigation led to Watkins’ arrest on additional charges, including possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, after suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia were found at his residence.
The sheriff’s office credited the partnership with state probation and parole officers for ensuring community safety.
