PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) – State and local leaders are mourning the sudden death of McCracken County Deputy Judge/Executive Steve Doolittle.

Doolittle dedicated much of his life to public service, including serving as executive director of the Paducah Riverfront Development Authority.

Gov. Andy Beshear recalled Doolittle’s work in the aftermath of the March 2023 tornado, saying he was among the first on the ground in Fremont, going door-to-door to check on residents.

“Steve devoted his life to public service,” Beshear said in a statement. “Britainy and I will be praying for Steve’s family and the McCracken County community.”
