Governor Andy Beshear announces child dies after being swept away by floodwaters

FRANKFORT, Ky., (KBSI) — A child died Friday morning after being swept away by floodwaters, officials said.

Gov. Andy Beshear asked Kentuckians to join him and his family in praying for the child’s family, who suffered an “unimaginable loss.”

Beshear urged residents to exercise extreme caution, noting that all water poses a significant risk at this time. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety to protect loved ones.
