MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) – A Grant woman has been arrested on child sexual abuse material charges as part of an ongoing investigation that began with the arrest of another Marshall County resident, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Wendolyn Martin, 60, was arrested July 1 after a forensic examination of electronic devices seized during a previous search warrant execution.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation began several weeks ago when Ricky Burkhead, of Grant, was arrested following an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force tip. Burkhead was charged with five counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.

During the search of the residence, investigators seized multiple electronic devices, including a cellphone belonging to Martin. Authorities said a forensic examination of the phone uncovered images depicting child sexual abuse material.

Martin is charged with three counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. She is being held in the Marshall County jail on a $250,000 bond.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are expected for both Burkhead and Martin.

The investigation is being conducted with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations and the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office.
