Graves County deputies apprehend burglary suspect after remote camera tip

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A burglary suspect was apprehended Thursday morning after a homeowner reported a burglary attempt via remote camera monitoring.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8300 block of Ky Hwy 94, between Pilot Oak and Water Valley, at approximately 9 a.m. Deputy Larry Jones detained the suspect, who initially attempted to flee.
An investigation revealed the suspect, Larry D. French, 55, of Calloway County, had already burglarized one home and attempted a second. Stolen property was found in French’s pickup truck. He confessed to the crimes.
French’s criminal record shows previous convictions for meth possession, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass, burglary, theft, and escape.
French was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, attempted second-degree burglary, and third-degree criminal trespass. He was lodged at an out-of-county detention center. Deputy Jones was assisted by Graves County Sheriff’s detectives.
