MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Two women were arrested Friday after a Graves County Sheriff’s Office investigation into suspected methamphetamine trafficking led to the discovery of nearly 20 grams of crystal meth, authorities said.

Detectives began investigating reports of drug activity in the 100 block of Treeland Drive earlier this week. On Nov. 21, deputies obtained a search warrant for a residence, the suspects and their vehicle.

At about 4:36 p.m., deputies executed the warrant and searched the home, the individuals and the vehicle. Investigators said they found crystal methamphetamine in several locations, totaling just under 20 grams, along with digital scales and U.S. currency believed to have been used in illegal drug transactions.

The investigation is ongoing.

Deputies arrested:

Christy M. Sullivan, 47, of Mayfield
• Trafficking in a first-degree controlled substance (methamphetamine)
• Possession of methamphetamine, third or subsequent offense

Chasity D. Ferguson, 48, of Mayfield
• Trafficking in a first-degree controlled substance (methamphetamine)
• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Both women were transported to an out-of-county detention center, Sheriff Jon Hayden said.
