Graves County Sheriff’s Department cracks down on thefts, recovers stolen gun

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Graves County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a series of theft reports Monday morning, including the theft of a motor vehicle, which led to the arrest of two juveniles and a 23-year-old man.
The investigation began Saturday when Sgt. Richard Edwards took a report of a stolen Sig Sauer .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Waldrop Drive.
On Monday, deputies responded to a call about a red Honda stuck in the mud on East Tucker and Chris Drive. The vehicle’s owner reported it stolen overnight from a Lakeview Drive address.
Numerous reports of vehicle break-ins followed, with stolen items including credit cards, debit cards, cash, and stereo equipment.
A search of a residence on Ky Hwy 121 South led to the recovery of the stolen pistol.
Sgt. Ben Doran and Dep. Larry Jones interviewed suspects, resulting in the arrest of two juveniles, ages 15 and 17, for the theft of the vehicle and multiple car break-ins.
The 17-year-old was also charged with theft of the pistol.
Ruben Antonio Suarez, 23, of Mayfield, was charged with receiving stolen property.
The investigation is ongoing.
