Graves County Sheriff’s Office announces arrests in cocaine, marijuana trafficking case

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — An undercover drug investigation led by the Graves and Marshall County Sheriff’s Offices culminated in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of West Farthing Street.

During the investigation, cocaine was purchased from 21-year-old Trevier L. Barnes at the residence. On Tuesday afternoon, deputies and detectives searched the home, finding Barnes and 23-year-old Tyus M. Jackson inside.

As authorities entered, Barnes was discovered attempting to flush cocaine down the toilet. The search yielded cocaine, multiple electronic scales, over half a pound of processed marijuana, more than $6,000 in cash, and related items.

Additionally, three loaded semi-automatic handguns and two long guns were seized. One of the handguns, a 9mm Smith and Wesson, was reported stolen to the Paducah Police Department in July 2024.

Barnes faces charges including trafficking in cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, and receiving stolen property.

Jackson is charged with trafficking in marijuana, enhanced by firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men were transported to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office and later taken to out-of-county detention centers. The investigation is ongoing.
