GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Graves County Fiscal Court will receive $160,000 in emergency funds to repair a drainage structure on Wray Road.

Wray Road (County Road 1311) runs between U.S. 45 and Wingo Road northeast of the Water Valley community.

The damaged culvert carries Jackson Creek under Wray Road. It is immediately west of Willard Road intersection.

“The Transportation Cabinet is pleased to approve this request for funding to provide assistance to Graves County to repair and maintain safe connections in the community,” said Transportation Secretary Jim Gray.

Fifty percent of the funding will cover front expenses for this repair. The remainder will be provided after the work is completed. The county is responsible for 20 percent of the total cost.

Special funds to assist county and city governments with emergency roadway repairs are being funded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Department of Rural and Municipal Aid.

The Graves County Fiscal Court will administer the work.
