Gun Violence Survivor Week is Feb. 1-7

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Gun Violence Survivor Week is February 1-7. According to Mom Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, nearly 60% of adults or someone they know or care about have experience gun violence in their lifetime.

Leslie Washington, a survivor of gun violence, say it is not about taking guns away from anyone.

“I don’t care how many guns you have, I just want you to be safe with your firearms and be, you know, safe and store them safely; you don’t have an arsenal,” said Leslie Washington. “I don’t care, just be safe because we have too many incidents where children are affected by guns.”
