Head-on collision in Mississippi County claims 1 life, injures 2
MISSISSIPPI Co., Mo., (KBSI) — A head-on collision on U.S. 61 in Mississippi County killed one person and seriously injured two others Thursday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 2020 Dodge Ram crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2010 Honda Civic around 4:55 a.m., about 6 miles east of Charleston.
The Honda’s driver, a 39-year-old man from Vienna, Illinois, died at the scene. His passenger, a 27-year-old man from East Prairie, Missouri, was airlifted to an Evansville, Indiana hospital with serious injuries.
The Dodge Ram’s driver, a 32-year-old man from Clinton, Kentucky, was also airlifted to a hospital in Cape Girirardeau, Missouri, with serious injuries.
