Head-on collision reported on KY 97; Minor injuries reported

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — A two-vehicle collision occurred Sunday on KY 97 at Scott Road, resulting in minor injuries.

Sgt. Richard Edwards and Deputy Peyton Jackson responded to the scene around 2:09 p.m.

According to investigators, Rodney Reider, 56, of Mayfield, was traveling north on KY 97 when he failed to stop for a turning vehicle, crossing into the opposite lane and colliding head-on with a vehicle driven by Justin Weed, 33, of Big Sandy, Tenn.

Reider was transported to Murray/Calloway County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Weed and his family were treated at the scene.

The Sedalia Fire Department assisted with traffic control.
