Herrin firefighters rescue pet snake from cabinet

HERRIN, Ill. (KBSI) – Herrin firefighters had a slithery situation on their hands Wednesday morning.

Firefighters responded to a report of a pet snake stuck in a wall.

Crews found Nagini (a 6-foot boa) had been stuck in the side panel of a kitchen cabinet for approximately 12 hours after escaping her enclosure.

The owner had 15 pounds of weight on top of the snake enclosure that the snake pushed off to get out.

Two firefighters disassembled the cabinet so the owner could get the snake.

No damage was done to the property.

Nagini was returned safely to her enclosure with more secure measures.
