Herrin man arrested on arson, burglary charges after house fire

HERRIN, Ill., (KBSI) — A Herrin man has been arrested on multiple charges after a house fire Thursday night in the 1000 block of North 11th Street, police said.
The Herrin Police Department and Herrin Fire Department responded to the blaze and found a man in the backyard of the residence. Investigators determined the individual, identified as Brian J. Siebert, was responsible for starting the fire.
Siebert was arrested and charged with arson, burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal damage to property.
The Illinois State Fire Marshal, Williamson County Fire Protection District, Marion Fire Department and Carterville Fire Department assisted in the response and investigation.
Police thanked the assisting agencies for their cooperation and emphasized their commitment to community safety.
