Herrin police investigating shooting on Bayer Circle Drive; one person injured

HERRIN, Ill., (KBSI) — The Herrin Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday evening in the area of Bayer Circle Drive.
Officers responded around 6:05 p.m. to reports of shots fired and found one person suffering from a gunshot wound upon arrival. The victim’s condition has not been released.
Police said the scene has been secured and there is no immediate threat to the public.
Chief David Dorris said the investigation remains active and thanked the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Energy Police Department, Carterville Police Department, and Crainville Police Department for assisting at the scene.
