Herrin police officer passes away due to cancer

Herrin, Ill., (KBSI)- Herrin Police Department is mourning the loss of Officer William “Rusty” Ward.

It is with deep sadness that The Herrin Police Department announces the passing of Herrin Officer Ward after a valiant battle, Ward succumbed to cancer on May 1st, 2024.

Herrin Police say, “His experience, mentorship, sense of humor, and above all friendship will be greatly missed by all of us.”
