Hickman County juvenile faces charges after social media threat

(KBSI) – A Hickman County juvenile faces charges after the Kentucky State Police investigated a threat of school violence.
Troopers with the Kentucky State Police charged a Hickman County juvenile after investigating a threat of school violence.
Tuesday morning, administrators with the Hickman County School district were made aware of social media post authored by a juvenile student.
The social media post included disturbing statements directed to the school and school staff. An image of a firearm was attached to the post which heightened the concerns of staff, according to KSP.
The male juvenile faces one count of terroristic threatening, 1st degree.
He was released to a guardian after consultation with the Hickman County Court Designated Worker.
Troopers ask that families talk with their children regarding the dangers of posting threatening messages online.
