POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KBSI) — A piece of aviation history recently touched down at Poplar Bluff Regional Business Airport.
A 1943 Beech RC-45J stopped at the airport to refuel, giving airport staff an up-close look inside the historic aircraft.
The plane belongs to the Beechcraft Model 18 family, which served the U.S. military in several roles, including transportation, navigation training and aerial photography. The RC-45J designation was adopted by the military in 1962.
Airport officials thanked the pilot for the visit and said they hope to see the aircraft return to Poplar Bluff.
