Historic preservation event to showcase Lorimier school building

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – In observance of Historic Preservation Month, the Historic Preservation Commission will host an event at the Kellerman Foundation for Historic Preservation’s new home in the historic Lorimier School building.

The event, scheduled for May, will feature tours of the building’s exterior and interior, as well as a presentation on its architect, William B. Ittner.

Dr. Mary Ann Kellerman will discuss plans to transform the former school into a museum and preservation center.

The event will be held at 401 Independence St., with parking available behind the building. Refreshments and a reception will follow.
