Christmas Tree Lighting 2021
Friday, November 26

Spectators can watch Santa & Mrs. Claus light the 30-foot Christmas tree that will be housed in the Vasterling Suites Courtyard for the duration of the Christmas in Downtown season! Expect new additions and food options to the 2021 season event.


The Lighting of Downtown Herrin, IL

Santa will be making his grand entrance from the North Pole on Friday, November 26 at 5 p.m. Mayor Steve Frattini and the Herrin Fire Department will meet Santa, and together they will light Park Avenue with a procession from the North to South, ending at the Herrin Civic Center. Santa and Mayor Frattini will make a short stop at the Grand Tree in front of the First Southern Bank. Join the fun on Park Avenue for the lighting of downtown and enjoy all of the beautiful window decorations.

Sunday, Nov. 28

29th annual Parade of Lights
downtown Cape Girardeau, MO

The 29th annual Parade of Lights is Sunday, November 28. The theme for 2021 is Ringing in the Holidays with Old Town Cape. The parade will begin at dusk (5 p.m.).

The parade route begins at the intersection of Broadway and West End Boulevard (Capaha Park entrance), continues east down Broadway toward the river, turns right onto Main Street, and ends at 43 S. Main (Hutson’s Big Sandy Furniture parking lot).

Main Street Cape Girardeau, MO 63701. Application forms have a fee of $50 or $25 for not-for-profit organizations. Make checks payable to Old Town Cape, Inc.

Old Town Cape’s 3rd Annual Holiday Bazaar
Saturday, Dec. 4
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
North Frederick Street in downtown Cape Girardeau, MO

This is day two of the 19th Annual Downtown Holiday Open House. The Holiday Bazaar will be located on North Frederick Street between Broadway and Themis. The Old Town Cape Holiday Bazaar will feature vendors that offer locally-grown, handcrafted, and homemade products such as winter produce, baked goods, candies, and artisan crafts. Vendors will also be accepting holiday baking orders and orders for customized gifts. Guests can expect to find their favorite Cape Riverfront Market vendors, as well as, new seasonal vendors. While shopping, enjoy music from SEMO’s Steel Drum Band. Old Town Cape will have a booth set up with downtown decals and holiday ornaments, including the 2021 Bridging the Mississippi ornament.
