Human remains found in Ripley County identified as missing man

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri State Highway Patrol says human remains discovered last month in rural Ripley County have been identified as a man who was reported missing more than five years ago.
According to the Patrol, the remains were found on private property on November 4. An autopsy conducted on November 7 identified them as Jerry B. Hale, born November 20, 1972. Hale had been reported missing to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office on August 28, 2019.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. The case is being handled by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, the Ripley County Coroner’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control.
