I-57 Southbound to close temporarily in Williamson County

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced a temporary closure of southbound Interstate 57 between exits 30 and 45 in Williamson County.

The closure, scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Tuesday, will allow for emergency guardrail and pavement repairs.

Southbound traffic will be redirected to eastbound Interstate 24 south of Marion.

Repairs are expected to be completed overnight, with all lanes reopening by 7 a.m. Wednesday.
