I-64 bridge maintenance to begin in Jefferson County

MT. VERNON, Ill., (KBSI) — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that maintenance work on the Interstate 64 bridge over Illinois 37 will begin overnight Wednesday, weather permitting.

The eastbound lane of I-64 at milepost 80 and the entrance ramp from Illinois 37 to eastbound I-64 will be closed.

Drivers are advised to follow road work signs, obey speed limits, and be alert for workers and equipment.
