IL Gov. Pritzker gives COVID-19 update

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker gives an update about COVID-19 cases in the state.

(KBSI) – Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker held a news conference about COVID-19 cases across the state Monday afternoon.

More than 19 million COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Illinois. Nearly 90 percent of seniors have been vaccinated.

ICU bed availability is very limited in some regions of Illinois.

Last week, Gov Pritzker urged providers to postpone non-emergency surgeries so they can use existing staff to expand ICU capability wherever possible.

  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Get your vaccination. Get your booster.
  • Wear your mask. An N95, KN95 or a surgical mask are best.
