Illinois maintenance worker seriously injured in tractor crash
ENERGY, Ill., (KBSI) — A village maintenance worker was seriously injured Tuesday after a vehicle collided with a tractor he was operating.
Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash on East College Street around 12:28 p.m.
According to authorities, a vehicle driven by Bryan T. Braid passed several vehicles in a no-passing zone and struck the tractor, which was traveling in the same direction.
Braid was cited for violating a no-passing zone and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The 31-year-old maintenance worker was thrown from the tractor and taken to a trauma center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
“We’re fortunate more significant injuries didn’t result from this accident,” Sheriff Jeff Diederich said. “As warmer weather arrives, it’s essential to remind the public to slow down and watch for motorcycles and farm equipment on our roadways.”
