Illinois releases inmates after new Safe-T law goes into effect

ILLINOIS (KBSI) – An Illinois state law is allowing of prisoners to get out of jail early.

Governor JB Pritzker signed Senate Bill 423 and enforced the Safe-T Act, that implements mandatory supervised release.

Illinois passed a law that eliminates the use of cash bail.
