Illinois State Police arrest Eldorado man in fatal shooting

ELDORADO, Ill., (KBSI) — A 25-year-old Eldorado man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder following a fatal shooting early Sunday, according to Illinois State Police.
Authorities said Eldorado police responded to a 911 call shortly after 5 a.m. Sept. 7 near Benton and First streets, where they found 44-year-old Michael J. Wiseman of Eldorado suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Wiseman was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Following an investigation requested by the Eldorado Police Department, ISP arrested Jesse W. Trout, 25, of Eldorado. On Monday, the Saline County State’s Attorney’s Office formally charged Trout with first-degree murder. He was ordered detained in the Saline County Jail pending trial after a detention hearing.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released.
Authorities emphasized that the charges are accusations and that Trout is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
