Inmate faces additional felony drug, contraband charges after jail intake search

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — An inmate booked into the Calloway County Jail is facing additional felony charges after jail staff discovered contraband during the intake process, officials said.

Authorities said Justin Wallman was arrested Dec. 29, 2025, on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, second offense; reckless driving; speeding 15 mph over the limit; and failure to produce proof of insurance. He was transported to the Calloway County Jail, where custody was transferred to deputy jailers.

During the intake process, jail staff observed Wallman exhibiting signs of nervousness and hesitating to comply with instructions. A thorough search was conducted, resulting in the discovery of contraband concealed inside his clothing, officials said.

A jail investigator was notified and conducted a follow-up investigation. As a result, Wallman was additionally charged with first-degree promoting contraband; first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine); first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine); and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Jail officials praised the deputy jailers for their professionalism and attention to detail, noting that their actions helped prevent dangerous contraband from entering the facility and contributed to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
