Interim provost appointed at Southeast MO State University

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – An interim provost at Southeast Missouri State University has been appointed.
Dr. Doug Koch has been appointed interim provost at Southeast effective June 1.
Dr. Melissa Odegard was appointed Interim Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies, effective August 1.
Koch has served as vice provost and dean of Graduate Studies at SEMO since 2019. Before that, he was the vice provost of academic programs and services at the University of Central Missouri. Before UCM, he spent nine years at Southeast Missouri State University as a faculty member and interim chair.
Koch received his Bachelor of Science in industrial technology education from the University of Wyoming. He earned his Master of Arts in teaching from Ball State University. He received his Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction/technology education from Virginia Tech.
Odegard, chair of the Department of Psychology and Counseling, will serve of interim vice provost and dean of Graduate Studies effective Aug. 1.
She will maintain her chair duties this summer while providing additional support to Koch.
A search for Provost will be undertaken within the next academic year.
