Intersection closure planned for Lexington Ave. improvement project

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Lexington and Perryville intersection will close July 7 as part of the Lexington Avenue Improvement project.

Contractor Nip Kelley expects to complete the work quickly, weather permitting. Crews will remove old concrete and install new concrete.

Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection and use alternate routes. A detour will be marked along Route W/Bouton, in addition to the existing detour on Kingshighway/Cape Rock.

Other nearby road closures include:

— Perryville between Lexington and Cape Rock
— Lexington between Perryville and Sherwood

Motorists are urged to plan ahead, exercise caution and consider the safety of construction workers.
