Inventor holds ribbon cutting for new appliance in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A ribbon cutting was held Thursday for a new appliance just in time for the big game on Sunday.

An inventor in Carbondale developed a small appliance called Chillware.

Brian Roberts came up with an appliance that will heat your food and with the flip of a switch, keep it cold too.

Chillware cools food to 37 degrees and can also heat food to 160 degrees.

A ribbon cutting was held Thursday at the company’s distribution center in Carbondale.

The distribution center in Carbondale will fill orders and ensure pickup service is available.

Chillware is a patented product.

Brian Roberts says a pool party, at which everyone passed on his award-winning potato salad, despite it being packed in ice-was the driving force behind his invention.
