Investigation by Internet Crimes Against Children leads to one arrest in KY

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (KBSI) – On Aug. 30 Detectives and Officers of the Hopkinsville Police Department and Crime Suppression Unit arrested John “Jay” Smith.

Smith is charged with 68 counts of Distribution of Obscene Matter. The arrest follows a nearly two-month-long investigation involving The Hopkinsville Police Department and Internet Crimes Against Children. Smith has had previous arrests for sexual-based offenses in Ohio.
