Investigators take prisoner to search site in Bollinger County

BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI)- Just in tonight — a source close to the case telling us investigators took a prisoner to the search site.
The 35-year anniversary of Gina’s disappearance approaching on August 5th — this comes as investigators wrap up a week of searching a property in Bollinger county — about 15 miles from where Brooks went missing in Fredericktown.
The thirteen-year-old disappeared while riding her bike after a baseball game.A source close to the case telling us the department of corrections brought an inmate to the search site — the person wearing orange — walking investigators through the 120-acre site in Bollinger County.
We’ve worked with our sister station Fox2 News to gather this newest information – asking the DOC who was transported — the answers: it was a Missouri State Highway Patrol operation.
We are still waiting for a formal response from the highway patrol.While no human remains were found — investigators did tell us they found possible items of evidence — now with the crime lab.
Lt. Darin Haslag with the Missouri State Highway Patrol says, “Some of the leads that we are going to look into moving forward – we have items collected that we are going to send off to a lab and that might develop some leads that we potentially want to talk to — yeah again — and I can’t get into specifics with it but from the time that we leave that property that doesn’t mean that investigations over that just means that our investigators are going to have much more work to do.”
Even today people in Fredericktown tell us they vividly remember the night brooks disappeared — witnesses reported seeing brooks on her bike near the Baptist church two blocks from her home — saying she was confronted by people in a battered station wagon — people told police they heard her screaming for help.Nathan Danny Williams was suspected in Brooks’s disappearance but never convicted.
right now, he’s serving a life sentence for raping a ten-year-old in a St. Louis Park.

As for the property searched — we are told the owner is not the target of the investigation — saying the property has changed hands multiple times since 1989.
Right now, it is primarily a hunting property — also reported — law enforcement machinery — seen from drone video is still on site.
