Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies conducted 58 traffic stops, issued 75 citations during St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period

JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted 58 traffic stops and issued 75 citations over the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period.

The sheriff’s office made one DUI arrest and issued 20 seat belt citations.

Additional citations included:

  • 12 – Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle
  • 5 – Distracted Driving
  • 3 – Stop Sign violations
  • 2 – Expired Vehicle Registration
  • 2 – Driver Possession of Cannabis
  • 1 – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • 1 – Fleeing/Eluding Officer
  • 1 – Driving While License Suspended
  • 1 – No Valid Driver’s License
  • 1 – Illegal Transportation of Alcohol
  • 1 – Non-Graduated Driver >1 passenger
  • 1 – Improper Lane Usage

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign.

The St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
