Jackson Fire Department responds to fire at Rubbermaid

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Firefighters responded to a fire at the Rubbermaid plant in Jackson on Tuesday morning.

The Jackson Fire Rescue department was dispatched to the scene at 1901 Lee Ave. at 10:15 a.m. after a manual pull station was activated.

Crews arrived to find a paint cure oven on fire inside the business. The fire was contained to the oven’s roof, with no damage extending to the rest of the building.

Due to the commercial setting and extended response time, mutual aid was requested to assist on scene and provide backup at the station.

After completing overhaul and cleanup, crews returned to service just before noon.
