Jackson R-2 celebrates winning transportation department

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) — The Jackson R-2 School District’s transportation department has placed in the state safety competition, with several team members earning individual honors.

The team, led by Carol Woods, took first place in the team category, with members Benny McDowell, Lisa Russell and Brenda Harris contributing to the win.

Individually, McDowell placed first, Harris took second and Russell finished third in the experienced transit category. Jonathan Shirley placed fourth.

McDowell qualified to compete in the international competition in Austin, Texas.
