Jefferson Community Center to celebrate grand opening
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – In just over a week, the Jefferson Community Center in Cape Girardeau will celebrate its grand opening.
The groundbreaking for the Jefferson Pool Project was held in August of 2021. After almost two years of construction, Cape Girardeau Public Schools Superintendent Neil Glass explains what having the new center means for the south side of the community.
“We’ve got a lot of assets that we have invested here in south Cape,” said Superintendent Neil Glass. “We’ve got a pool where we can do some instruction. We can give swimming lessons. We can give birthday parties, scuba diving lessons. You name it. If it involves a body of water, we can probably do it right here.
The community center is located on the back side of Jefferson Elementary School at 420 South Minnesota Avenue.
