Jefferson County conducts compliance checks on registered offenders
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — Law enforcement agencies conducted compliance checks on registered sex offenders and violent offenders against youth in Jefferson County on July 18.
Members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Vernon Police Department, Illinois State Police and U.S. Marshals checked 50 registered offenders, finding 31 in compliance.
The county has a total of 130 registered offenders, with 74 residing in Mount Vernon, 55 in the county and one listed as homeless.
