JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A Cedar Hill man is facing multiple felony charges following a double shooting outside a Dittmer bar over the weekend, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Dave Marshak said 24-year-old Christopher Masson has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action. Masson is being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
Investigators said the shooting occurred shortly before midnight Dec. 12 outside Holeshots Saloon in Dittmer. Authorities said Masson was involved in a verbal altercation with two men inside the business before the confrontation moved outside. Investigators allege Masson retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and shot both men.
The victims, a 53-year-old man from Dittmer and a 30-year-old man from Cedar Hill, were transported to area hospitals. As of the latest update, both were reported to be in critical but stable condition.
Masson was taken into custody at the scene and later booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
The sheriff’s office thanked a witness who assisted in the investigation, as well as Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski and her staff for their swift action in filing charges.
