BUNCOMBE, Ill. (KBSI) — The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday it will increase patrols along Illinois 37 near Buncombe following three accidents reported in the same location this week.
The Sheriff’s Office said it will partner with the Illinois State Police to conduct the stepped-up patrols, which began immediately.
Authorities said the crashes occurred on separate days in front of the Buncombe Quarry. Investigators believe loose rock in the roadway may have contributed to some of the accidents.
