Joint investigation leads to arrest of Tennessee man on meth trafficking charge

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Tennessee man was arrested Tuesday evening after a joint drug investigation by the McCracken County and Graves County sheriff’s offices.

Detectives received information on Dec. 2 indicating that Steven Britt, 58, of South Fulton, Tenn., was traveling to McCracken County to deliver a significant quantity of methamphetamine. Investigators from both agencies set up coordinated surveillance in the Boaz area based on the intelligence.

Around 6:30 p.m., detectives observed Britt arrive at a gas station at 7665 Old U.S. Highway 45. He was detained without incident. A search of the truck he was driving led to the discovery of seven baggies of methamphetamine weighing approximately 231 grams.

Britt was arrested at the scene and booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
