Juvenile arrested in connection to shooting in Mt. Vernon

MT. VERNON, Ill. (KBSI) – A juvenile was arrested Thursday in connection with a Tuesday shooting in Mt. Vernon.

The Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team served a search warrant and juvenile arrest warrant at 2:40 p.m. on June 20 in the 1000 block of South 20th Street.

The arrest warrant was in reference to  shooting that happened on June 18.

The male juvenile suspect sought in the shooting was arrested.

He will be detained at a juvenile detention facility.
