Juvenile arrested, police recover firearm in Carbondale after altercation investigation

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Police responded to a report of a male displaying a firearm during an altercation in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane on May 9.

Officers arrived at 6:28 p.m. and located the suspect, a 15-year-old Carbondale male. A firearm was recovered without incident.

The juvenile was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon and released to a parent with monitoring equipment. No juvenile detention facilities were available.
