Juvenile injured in Carbondale shooting; Police investigating

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 400 block of South Lake Heights on March 11 at 7:40 p.m.

A juvenile male was found with a minor injury consistent with a gunshot wound. He was treated by emergency medical personnel at the scene and did not require further hospital treatment.

Police found bullet strikes and damage to an unoccupied vehicle and a residence that was occupied at the time of the shooting.

Witnesses reported seeing three black males wearing dark clothing fleeing the area on foot. Investigators believe the incident resulted from a dispute between acquaintances.
