Juvenile with warrant in Tennessee arrested after found hiding under porch in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A juvenile was arrested after Cape Girardeau police received a report of a male with a firearm behind a business on April 3 around 4:30 p.m.

Officers found the person who then ran from officers through a residential neighborhood.

Officers found him under the back porch of a home trying hide from officers.

He was identified as a juvenile who also had a warrant for his arrest from Tennessee Division of Youth Services.

Officers canvassed the area and the path where the juvenile ran to locate the firearm. However, they were unable to find it.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department did not have a K-9 handler on at the time so contact was made with the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Department. Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Department, K-9 Handler Deputy Yoder and his K-9 Zeno responded to try to locate the firearm the suspect had thrown. Within minutes, K-9 Zeno was able to track and locate the firearm which was safely recovered by officers.

Cape Girardeau police thanked the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office along with the citizens that reported the juvenile and assisted in locating him.
