K-9 alert during traffic stop leads to felony arrest in Franklin County

BUCKNER, Ill., (KBSI) — A Buckner man faces a felony drug charge following a traffic stop Wednesday night.
A Franklin County sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle around 9:52 p.m. near Second and South Mulberry streets.
The sheriff’s office said K-9 Stryker alerted to the possible presence of drugs while conducting a sniff around the vehicle. During a subsequent search, deputies reportedly found suspected methamphetamine on a passenger.
Kevin W. Kondoudis, 56, was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine. He was being held in the Franklin County Jail pending court proceedings.
The charge is an accusation. Kondoudis is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
