KCTCS president to speak at Paducah Chamber breakfast

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce will host Kentucky Community and Technical College System President Dr. Ryan Quarles as the featured speaker at its April Power in Partnership breakfast.

The event is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. April 2 at the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center and is sponsored by West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

Youth LEAD Class No. 15 will also be recognized during the breakfast, with members of the class participating in the program.

Quarles, who became KCTCS president in January 2024, leads a system of 16 colleges and 70 campuses across the state. He previously served in the Kentucky House of Representatives and as Kentucky’s commissioner of agriculture from 2016 to 2023.

The Youth LEAD program is designed for high school juniors, with 36 students graduating this year. Participants meet monthly to learn about topics including community service, career development, government, business and health care.

Pre-registration is required by 2 p.m. March 30 at Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce – Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce or by calling 270-443-1746. The cost is $25. Power Card holders are not required to pre-register.
