Kellerman Foundation moves historic statues to multiple sites

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – The Kellerman Foundation for Historic Preservation completed the relocation of several large cement statues Friday, calling it a challenging but successful effort.

The statues were purchased weeks earlier, but arrangements to move them had been delayed. Movers with Luttrell Moving assisted with transporting and setting up the heavy pieces, a process the foundation said proved difficult due to their size and weight.

The statues will be placed at three historic properties: the Clark Kellerman House, the Oliver Leming House and Kellerman Lorimier Hall.

The foundation shared that photos capture parts of the process, while videos better show the full scope of the effort, adding that staff were relieved professionals handled the move rather than attempting it themselves.
