Kelly Schools start winter break early due to ‘network communication outage’

BENTON, Mo. (KBSI) – A network communication outage let students and staff at the Scott County R-IV School District start their winter break a few days early.

The outages affects the day to day business and safety of student and staff, so the school district will not be in session December 18, 19, or 20 as planned on the school calendar, according to letter from Superintendent Bradley J. Kolwyck on the school district’s Facebook page.

Winter break begins Monday, Dec. 18.

Students return to classes on Wednesday, January 3.

The unexpected early dismissal days will not by AMI days.

Finals will be on January 5, 8, and 9 in the original hours planned.

A bus will be available for CTC students at the regular times.

Field trips during the school day are cancelled.

Basketball games are moving forward as planned.

Due to a network communication outage that affects the day to day business and safety of students and staff, Scott County R-IV will NOT be in session on December 18th, 19th, or 20th this week as planned on the school calendar. Winter Break will begin tomorrow, December 18th, and students will return on January 3rd as planned. The unexpected early dismissal will NOT be AMI Days.
All scheduled finals will be on January 5th, 8th, and 9th in the original hours planned.
